Metal Bar Stool Showroom is the best place to shop for Antonini Outdoor products The Antonini Company was founded by Emilio Antonini, grandfather of its current President, in the year 1924. It was a small sawmill located in the rolling hills of Tuscany between Florence and Arezzo and worked mostly with oak and chestnut wood. At that time, high-end furniture was made in limited series in workshops that developed mostly in the Tuscany area. The Antonini company specialized in the production of high quality timber for cabinetmakers of the time, who produced hand-made furniture with inlays of other woods as specialized finishings. The company then began to deal with other prestigious woods such as ash, elm and walnut, which grew naturally in the woods of Tuscany, becoming a major supplier to the Italian furniture industry. During the Second World War the mill was destroyed, but Emilio Antonini’s son, Glauco, was able to give a new start to the company. He was a pioneer in the far east and was among the first to discover the technological characteristics of some species previously unknown to the market, such as teak, a species which would soon become the benchmark for the outdoor furnishing industry. He also developed the industrial use of teak for naval construction in Europe. In 1986 Glauco Antonini's son, Emilio, succeeded as head of the company. He further developed the production of sophisticated products for the furniture industry and expanded into new markets such as naval products, bringing about fruitful collaborations with shipyards and shipbuilders that were developing in Trieste. Indeed, Trieste at that time was a reference point for the whole Mediterranean basin for the production of contract furniture and furnishings for cruise ships. Several technologies and patents for woodworking machines were developed for special applications in the marine and outdoor furnishings areas and from this specialization the Antonini outdoor division was born. Drawing on years of experience in fine carpentry, and with a proven aptitude in handmade, made-to-measure naval furniture with utmost care for details and design, the Antonini company offers you it's furniture creations, the most recent examples in a long-established tradition of Italian artisan excellence.
